The Jam 8.5x11in

I was commissioned to create a poster for a music event during Harvard/Yale football weekend where student bands from each school performed alongside each other.

I started this project by making the gif, but although I was really excited about it, the person who commissioned me wanted something that spoke more to the football game. I took this criticism and then created the poster below, highlighting the band names with their respective school color, and editing the football players to be holding records.

The Dock 11x17in

The Dock is an upcoming DJ competition put on by the Spring Fling committee. Four student DJs will compete against each other by playing 30-minute sets at a live event. These sets will be recorded and shared with the student body, so they can vote on who they want to open Spring Fling. We saw a large interest in DJing by students, but there was no dedicated space for the genre, so we made this event.

The event is taking place in a loading dock, so I was inspired by the industrial aesthetics of the space for the smaller graphic. I then made the larger poster for printing and posting around campus, with more subtle nods to industry through the sharp geometric sparks, and repeating circles. I experimented with texture and composition in both.

SF23 Lineup 11x17in

This was a poster given out for free during wristbanding for Spring Fling 2023. I wanted something different and memorable people could take and put up in their dorm rooms, so I experimented with ways I could use the recognizable exclamation point to spell out “Spring.”

I imagined the exclamation points to be festival-goers, and decided to have the names of the artists in one corner to make the poster more about the Spring Fling brand and less about the specific year.
